Yes, there are better cards out there, but that's how I learned the lesson in 1998 to lose against a turn loop.

1998? That means they didn't have the Saga Lands to help them out. How on earth did they generate 11 mana a turn? Mana flare? That would mean they would have needed a way to get rid of that extra mana, which I guess could have been done with firebreathing (or flowstone at that particular juncture).
