its a little expensive but once you get it out and equipped with gorgon flail its pretty much game over as long as you protecct it, because no matter how many creatures they bring out a turn as lon as deathbringer thoctar has on counter on it you can kill everthing then attack with him.

so long as they block
you need a power of fire so your thoctar is sure to do damage to the actual creature

no blocking or anything else is needed as long as the throcter has a +1 counter, you remove the counter to do 1 damage to a creature, it dies to deathtouch, throcter gets another +1 counter repeat with the next creature.

Wow.. That's surprisingly easy.. Gorgon flail is too flexible.

you could do it based on its second ability but thats a waste of counters....if your gonna pump him up you might as well keep him pumped

the point of the combo is to just clear the board so that your thoctar can attack every turn unblocked because you don't need to tap him to use his ability which leaves him open to attack. i use him in a zombie deck so he still gets pumped up with Cemetery Reaper.
