Plains is Homeward Path, from Commander. It's a land that says: Tap: Each player gains control of all permanents he or she owns.
Tap the Homeward Path to get back your Gilded Drake after stealing their creature. :)
Add a Venser, the Sojourner to bounce your drake every turn and steal stuff.

Unfortunately, Homeward path says that each player gains control of their own creature, so you would lose the one you stole too. It's sort of like Brooding Saurian in a land. You may just have to stick with brand+scepter.
