With Conspiracy and Thopter Assembly out you can get 5 thopters a turn for the low, low cost of 6 mana/turn.  Conspiracy overrights Thopter Assembly's creature type as well as the creature type of all other Thopters out so when the Thopter Assembly goes to check for any Thopters lying around it won't find any and it'll bounce itself for 5 more Thopters.  Cast it again to set yourself up for the next turn.

Cards that pair well with this are Doubling Season, Parallel Lives, Sharding Sphinx, Cavern of Souls, etc... :)

This is a nice good "mook" combo.

This doesnt work. Conspiracy only adds an additional creature type. It does not remove creature types. So your thopter assembly will be a "thopter menfolk" or thopter what ever type you choose with conspiracy, but still a thopter. So will all the little tokens you get and thus thopter assembly will not trigger the second time.

Actually, it should work.  Because Conspiracy doesn't say it's that type "in addition to its other types" it will overright the existing types.  See the rule below, bolding of the text is mine

205.1a Some effects set an object's card type. In such cases, the new card type(s) replaces any existing card types. Counters, effects, and damage marked on the object remain with it, even if they are meaningless to the new card type. Similarly, when an effect sets one or more of an object's subtypes, the new subtype(s) replaces any existing subtypes from the appropriate set (creature types, land types, artifact types, enchantment types, planeswalker types, or spell types). If an object's card type is removed, the subtypes correlated with that card type will remain if they are also the subtypes of a card type the object currently has; otherwise, they are also removed for the entire time the object's card type is removed. Removing an object's subtype doesn't affect its card types at all.

also, if you're running zombies, (or if type doesn't matter in your deck) rooftop storm might be an idea. With it you get infinite creatures. Works exceptionally with thraximundar or grimgrin as a general.
