dang... u took not 1.. but 2 bad cards from mercadian masques and made them viscious... very nice.. and infinite damage and infinite damage to boot!
the soul link is a very nice card, i am glad it isnt a rare... makes it much easier to find that great card... surprised it isnt worth a lot even as a common, as there are a lot of combos for it
for those that want to keep it mono-black, replace soul link with vampiric link .... it works too, as it is a 3/3 and regen for 2 mana ... (with the soul channelling anyways) and is a living pestilence

I would like to recommend Blessing of Leeches instead of Soul Channeling.

Using this ennchantment you'd lose less life when killing everything, which makes the swapping of soul link for vampiric link much more sensible and allows you to go mono black (and with a ritual, drop Wumpus turn 3 and enchant it turn four.

Other options include Homicidal Seclusion from Dark Ascension and, if you want to include a really bad card from back in the day, Black Ward.
