Doomblade Melira, Zenith the board.  getting a creature to be truely unable to leave the board in any way the opponent can act is very difficult and one thing that makes the game great!

I've lost more than one Pauper match to this combination. The ____ of the _____ cycle of auras from Shadowmoor and Eventide are quite fun to build around, and have lots of synergies, especially with all the multicolour cards from Shadowmoor, Ravnica and Shards of Alara blocks.
