Pay 1 Mana to sac Sword of the Meek to the Foundry. When the 1/1 Blue Thopter comes into play, Carnival of Souls forces you to lose 1 life, but you just gained 1 life so it evens out, and pull Sword of the Meek out of the Graveyard equipped to Thopter, and use 1 black mana to start over again. Make sure you only have 1 Carnival of Souls out at a time, or you'll die.

you can only do it once....sword of the meek is already in the grave and its effect doesnt activate because you had to sacrfice it then bring out the 1/1 creature

Alas, here is a case where burning shadows were right. I wish the rules stated that an activated ability's
cost and effect happened simultaneously. And I wish the rules stated that a "when this enters play" trigger must resolve before the object is actually in play.

According to my houserules (something I sincerely hope Magic will adopt some day), this would only be able to activate once and then hit the graveyard after the trigger was legal.

The ability would activate, causing the artifact to start to fade in, and the token to start to fade in, the artifact checks that there is a 1/1 creature entering play, but it is not in graveyard so the trigger doesn't click. The final transitions are made and the artifact is in the graveyard, and the creature goes in play. -- That's how my house-rule mechanics would play out.

Sacrifice a nontoken artifact is a cost right?
So it immediately happens while the 1/1 is an effect and uses the stack right?
So while the effect is on the stack, the equipment is already on the graveyard, right?

Oh, i misread your post Ephemerance... Sorry!

BS, Ephemerance, you are both wrong. This combo works.

Assuming all 3 are in play already:

1: Use the Foundry's ability, sacrifice the Sword of the Meek
2: Foundry's ability resolves, giving you a 1/1 Ornithoptor token and 1 life. This triggers the Sword's graveyard ability and the Carnival of Souls. It doesn't matter which order you stack them.
3: Sword of the Meek returns to play and attaches to the new Thopter.
4: You lose 1 life and gain B

Net effects: No change in life, gain 1 Thopter token and turn whatever mana you used on the Foundry into B.

Repeat 1 to 4 until you have as many Thopters as you want.

What you seem to be getting wrong is the Sword's trigger. It's ability triggers from the Graveyard, not from play, because it specifically mentions returning it from the Graveyard.

Ephemerance, with house rules like that, I'm glad I don't play you.

Looking back at this, I think it's sort of funny. I never said the combo didn't work, at the time I just wished the rules would change to make it not work.
