Artifact

Mirrodin Besieged

Read rules for Knowledge Pool
Imprint — When this artifact enters, each player exiles the top three cards of their library. Whenever a player casts a spell from their hand, that player exiles it. If the player does, they may cast a spell from among other cards exiled with this artifact without paying its mana cost.

Plains is Curse of Exhaustion

Curse your opponent, then lay down the pool. I believe this works, since Knowledge Pool says to exile each spell cast, then tells you to cast another from it\'s exiled pool, but the Curse prevents the initiation of another casting.

So how do you win? token generator? chalice of life and death?  what would be best?  Whatever it is, you probably have to have it out already.

Well no, you can still cast spells, because you (unlike your opponent) don't have a limit on the number of spells you can cast.

The combo is good on it's own, turning the game into a game of solitair, however, don't forget your opponent(s) can still activate abilities.  There aren't many standard ways to remove this combo once in place, and even fewer that are actually played, but they are out there and this can be disrupted if you're not careful.  A good solid win-con may be Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite because it make all your creatures better, all theirs worse, and can help if you're not well defended yet.

Good ways to get it out include green ramp, and Grand Architect, think

T1: land, Delver of Secrets
T2: land, save mana for Mana Leak, cast Snapcaster at the end of their turn
T3: land, Grand Architect, tap 3 blue creatures to drop a Wurmcoil Engine to scare your opponent and leaving your mana open to play counterspells
T4: land, cast the Curse of Exhaustion, swing with the Wurmcoil Engine if he's still around
T5: tap 3 blue creatures to cast Knowledge Pool leaving your mana open to play counterspells or stuff to trigger the pool when it resolves.
T6: profit
T7: profit
T8: profit
T9: profit
T10: profit
T11: profit
T: profit

ALWAYS be sure you drop the Curse AFTER the knowledge pool.  If you drop the pool first and reveal a Curse from the top of your library and try to get it back by casting a cheap spell your opponent can cast a cheap spell in response and get your curse to play against You!

Sideboard options would include Geist of Saint Traft (if they bring in combo-killers, replace the combos with these), Ratchet Bomb for more agressive decks, Gut Shot for free triggers if you get into a Knowledge pool war it's a free cast, Spellskite to protect your combo peices.

I think this combo has a chance of becoming a good solid late-game lockup in an established archetype, but I don't think it will be too great on it's own once it becomes more exposed to the world.
