Throw in Living Plane. That way the Lands you steal become copies of Herald of Leshrac

Mechanist, he's making everything a copy of Dryad Arbor, not the Herald.

I think the key thing here is how you stack your upkeep triggers. Mirrorweave imprinted on Panoptic Mirror should work as long as you control the triggers so that Herald's cumulative upkeep triggers first. He'll then become a copy of the Arbor. So you'll be able to take everyone's creatures and lands, but you won't ever have the Herald to use as a beatstick.

Although, now that I think about it, can mirrorweave copy a card's supertype like "Land". I don't see why it wouldn't, but there's probably some secret rule that would state otherwise. Hmmm, someone should look that up.

This would take some cool stack manipulation, but wouldn't the Herald becoming something else trigger his ability that gives back the lands?

Speaking of which, you could use phasing to steal peoples lands permanently!

Fair enough that he's not leaving play, but wouldn't that mean that any effects he brought with him also go away or would they just reinstate when he came back?

I love all these really confusing, yet legit, rules calls.
