i'm not sure if paying twelve mana every turn for infinite turns is worth it...

I'd say if you can pay the 12 mana, it is well worth it.

That being said the question becomes "can I get 12 mana reliably to use this.

The definite plus side to this is that the combo is colorless. The instant maybe white, but you are using the scepter to cast it, removing the necessary nature of white mana. Using an anvil of semblence and/cloud key could substainially help this combo take flight.

i guess another way to look at it is that any time you have infinite turns, it's basically an instant win.

That's what I'd think, but others disagree.

even if your mana locked at the beginning, infinite turns allow you to set up any win combo you want.

While it's true that infinite turns gives you time to set up your win conditions, some people who have a pretty good board set up will just request that you play it out in hopes that you mill yourself (and I've seen it happen too). After all, some decks don't have an actually real win condition. I've seen decks that can't win except for by their opponent quitting out of frustration.

most of the people in my playgroup run instant win combos or extreme lockdown combos. if you have infinite turns, you'll prolly pull them off.

At 12 mana, that game should have been over a long time ago.
