Forest is Lumberknot from Innistrad

Get a +1/+1 counter every turn. Awakening Zone is just what Morbid needs for a boost.

The only issue is that beyond casual this won't see any play. If you were to make a deck around morbid and you wanted a sacrifice per turn, I would use something like Stitcher's Apprentice. That way it keeps it standard legal.

Yeah but that adds another color. Plus you're having to pay 2 mana every turn while with Awakening Zone the creature is free plus you can sac him not only to get the counter on Lumberknot but also get 1extra mana.

You're right that in general Awakening Zone is the better card for this, but it terms of formats, morbid doesn't have much of a place outside of standard. And Awakening Zone isn't legal in standard.

Actually you can use Ashnod's Altar  (with or without the Retrievers) or Pentavus or Triskelavus with Morbid. Plus you can throw in Gravepact as an acsessory.

I'm not saying that Morbid doesn't have non-standard cards to play with, I'm saying with all of the great cards out there for vintage or legacy, no one is going to try to utilize morbid in their decks.
