Use these to lock up an opponent and slowly kill them.

Ten pts to whoever gets what this title is a reference to.

Not a bad lock. I approve.

Well this negatively affects both you and your opponent equally. Right now, both of you are limited to only playing one spell per turn, and that spell is required to be creature spell. So as long as your opponent has better, stronger creatures than you, you'll still come out worse off. If the Pyromancer is to get rid of your opponents creatures, I would instead use something like Visara or Avatar of Woe that can get rid of creatures entirely.

" Cynder Pyromancer deals 1 damage to target player".
The reason for Cynder Pyromancer be a part of the combo is because it's a slowly win condition.

Is the title a reference to a book called "The whipping boy?" I may have the title wrong.

That's right, I wasn't paying attention to Cinder Pyromancer. I always forget about the cards from Lorwyn and Shadowmoor, I never really played with them that much.

They were pretty terrible sets...! Wizards just said "Hey, lets make UB tribal the strongest set in the block so nobody can beat it! Ooh, ooh, and then we cant print a card that "hoses" faeries a year later when nobody plays them anymore!"
