, this will cost you 1 mana. Gain 1 life and bring a 1/1 blue thopter into play as a result. This triggers both the
Tangleroot
, giving you one green mana, and also the
Sword of the Meek
, which comes back out of the graveyard equipped to your thopter. Sac the
Sword of the Meek
to the
Thopter Foundry
using the 1 green mana to power the combo. Keep doing it until you have enough 1/1 thopters to overwhelm your opponent.

If I'm not mistaken about the text of this, Tangleroot requires that a creature "spell" be cast, not that a creature is "put into play". Not sure if this is viable.....anyone know otherwise?

Yes, he is right. Tokens are not considered spells, and you are not casting them.
