On your first turn, play one swamp, then play Dark Ritual. Use the three black from Dark Ritual to play Death Cultist, then use his sacrifice ability (sacrifice Death Cultist; your opponent loses one life and you gain one life), then use Bond of agony and pay 19 life for the X cost. You will lose 19 life and be at 2. Your opponent will lose their 19 life and go down to zero. One turn, uncounterable, and very low cost (two black mana). If you get this combo in your opening hand, you are almost assured victory.. Have fun.

Death Cultist (B)
Dark Ritual (B) (adds 3B)
Bond of Agony (XB) (X is paid in life)

You have to pay mana for x!

...Aw, you're right. I mistook the X in the mana cost to be the same X for life paid. Well I feel silly. How do I remove posts?

Ah. Can I replace this "combo" with another one? I have a decent one involving Phyrexian Processor and Alabastor Mage.

Ya, posts can't be removed to remind us all, even the critics (you know who you are), how we temporarily lose our brain and post something stoopid .

Another reason posts can't be removed is for us to ridicule you for posting something sooo stooopid.

Critically yours,

Pal.

Morthaflen word of advice. Ignore people like this. Brush them off and don't let their comments get to you.

Think of this as more of a brain storm than a hard fact place. A failed idea may inspire a new one, or just a fix.

We don't think Pal said anything bad because we know him enough and how he writes to realize the playing.  Just as we know you enough to realize your jabs are harmless fun.

However, for someone new to the site, maybe just found it, posting a combo for the first time, they might even be new to the game, either way they don't have the advantage of knowing how someone is.  For someone in that position what Pal said can be considered insulting, his comments can easily be read as "this stays so we remember how stupid you are"

Mechanist isn't trolling, he is given a noob to the site sound advice, based on his experience with the same thing.

People can't let insults get to them, ignore what you don't like, take what you can

Since Mechanist misconstrued Pal's post, wouldn't he also be considered a newcomer to the site? As a newcomer, why should he be allowed to place judgement on people's posts?

The bottom line is that Pal didn't mean bad and that everyone makes mistakes. Even me! (gasp)

It doesn't matter how long someone has been here, everyone can and should offer ideas and suggestions.  As Psyche said its a brainstorm, the more involved the better the ideas.  And in this process people will get insulted, which brings us back to mechanists post if you don't like it brush it off

And yes we all make mistakes and I know pal didn't mean bad, but it, like anybody's comments, could be considered bad, its based on the perception of the reader.  You saw is a good Mechanist saw it as bad, and he offered advice on how to handle the bad, doesn't mean that advice should be ignored.

On a side note.  Isn't a Parasprite a cute little creature with big cute little eyes and butterfly wings that can level cities causing the cityfolk to run in fear?  how is that insulting?

I do have a problem where I take things too literal.

Plus I don't mean to wine but one of the combos I posted has no comments and is in the 15 Newest section.

It's always been like that. . .

In the show, parasprites are like tribbles. We call trolls parasprites because of that.

It's a card art, but I don't remember which one.

Gericault has good grammar and adequate punctuation.

My sincere apologies to all I offended. It is NEVER my intention to offend anyone with my posts.

In case the meaning was misconstrued, I was indeed stating that everybody makes mistakes... followed by a lighthearted remark about how we get to ridicule the mistake (again, sorry if you took it wrong).

Humbly yours,

Pal

Pal is probably the least aggressive person here.

Besides Shakii, but he comes and goes.
