Myrs aren't that often used in combos. Intruder Alarm is too often used unnecessary in combos.

Ahh intruder alarm. Is there any card out there you can't turn from "good" to "game breaking"? Seriously, if any card deserved to be added to the power 9 it's intruder alarm. It just breaks almost everything.

The power 9 were all undercosted! Alarm isnt!

Also all combos get -1/-1 if they use intruder alarm!

I wonder how many times intruder alarm has been used on here. yet I am unwilling to waste my time to count.

@ pinkie.

I would beg to differ. If you take a look at the shear number of cards broke by alarm AND the average CVC of those cards i would say that it should be 1 to 2 colorless higher. I'm sure wizards felt the same as you when they made it. Though, i don't believe they saw the shear amount of havoc they unleashed. When you can go infinite multiple ways and the alarm is your most expensive card by CVC; that requires some looking at. BTW, i'm not saying it BELONGS in the power 9, I'm saying if some were to hold tryouts for the power 9, Alarm would be the top of my list. There are plenty other cards that you could make case for. Whether any of those cards including alarm survived the vetting process is another matter.

It only breaks creatures that tap to make another creature for free, or enchantments that give creatures those abilities! And theres only 7 cards that tap to make a token for free!
(There are about 3-4 other cards that arent creatures that can tap to make stuff, but theyre not auras or creatures, so alarm wont untap them unless you animate them!)

And the power 9 werent just 1-2 mana light!
A faux lotus was never made, but it would probably be about 3-4 mana!
Moxen are 3 low! (Diamonds, totems, signets, talismans!)
Recall is 3 low! (Concentrate!)
Time walk is 3 low! (All of the warps!)
Timetwister is slightly more complicated! The only thing comparable is time reversal, but even that isnt as good! You could call that 3-4!

Pinkie, they have made faux lotuses.  like lotus bloom and gilded lotus (sort of)

also, Intruder alarm would never be in question for a power 9-like list.  It's GREAT for combos, which is what this site is, so u might think that.  BUT the power 9 are as great as they are because they are so undercosted which was already said, but also because they can fit into ANY deck and be great.  as in ANY deck is worth splashing blue for time walk and recall.  just look at vintage decks.  If anything were added to the power 9 it would be stuff like yawgmoth's will or something. 

my opinion anyway.  I would mostly agree with pinkie.
