Read rules for Reality Ripple
Target artifact, creature, or land phases out. (While it's phased out, it's treated as though it doesn't exist. It phases in before its controller untaps during their next untap step.)

I'm trying to figure out how I missed this before, or if there is some strange rule that allows you to sacrifice things that aren't in play.

Turn one island
Turn two land
Turn three land, Phyrexian Dreadnought and play reality ripple as it comes into play to phase it out.
Turn four it phases in, which is no problem because phasing does not trigger coming into play abilities.

I mean, it is clearly not as fast as stifle, but if it does work, Reality Ripple could get new life on the market.

EDIT: Luckly this didn't work back in the day when both cards were released, thanks to old phasing rules.

This seems legit. Here's the rulings I found on Phyrexian Dreadnought.

Phasing in does not trigger "enters the battlefield" abilities, so you don't have to sacrifice again if it phases in.

If the Dreadnought is no longer on the battlefield when the triggered ability resolves, you may still choose either option.

So you play the dreadnaught, then in response to its ability you ripple it, then choose to sacrifice it, but it cant be sacrificed because it phased out?!

Yes, seems like instants and abilities that make things phase out should be added to torpor orb decks.

Otherworldly journey would still trigger Dreadnought's come into play sac, which is what we are trying to avoid.

On a side note, champion creatures do rather well with RR since it gets back the exiled creature instantly, especially if said exiled creature has a a cool come into play ability.
