Even better 1v1... kicker on his/her turn, no kicker on yours.

So a kicker cost is not part of the casting cost? Rules sometimes confuse me.

things like kicker, buyback, etc. are additional costs that you mau choose to pay as the spell is cast. Isochron allows you to cast the spell, then as it's being cast you may add on a kicker cost.

if it said without paying its cost(s) then the kicker would be optional but free, but the card says without paying it's mana cost, so sorry.

Kicker is an additional cost, so you can still pay kicker if its imprinted! Kicker, buyback, replicate, and entwine can all be payed when playing a spell without paying its mana cost!

You still have to pay the cost for the kicker though. The original cost is the only thing payed for.

Wait pal, why would you play it on yourself?! And the voltaic key is only in here because scepter+chant has been posted!

To clarify...

On his turn, you use it on him with kicker (he no attack you).

On your turn, you use it on him without kicker (so you can attack if you want to).

Basically locks him out of spells after activated each turn (I'm guessing during upkeep).

Voltaic Key makes this possible of course...

Its overposted, and every time its posted people ask about the kicker, and aphetto alchemist is better than voltaic key! Other than that, sure!

I agree, but Aphetto Alchemist is easier to get rid of.
