Apologizes but the card database does not include a key piece of the combo past in flames is a new sorcery in Innistrad.

http://magiccards.info/query?q=past+in+flames&v=card&s=cname

Ok works like this You have seven cards in your hand a mountain, rite of flame, desperate ritual, seething song, past in flames, lightning bolt, and a grapeshot.  Your opponent plays a land and says go. You smile draw a card and get the second grapeshot.... and then the fun begins play your mountain for a rite of flame for 2R for a desperate ritual for 3R for a seething song for 5R then play past in flames for 4R leaving you 1R to repeat the first 3 spells bringing you back up to 5R then play the lighting bolt for 3 dmg to opponent 4R left play the first grapeshot for a total of 9 bringing your opponent down to 8 health and you down to 2R in the pool use the final 2 mana for the last grapeshot for another 10 dmg bringing opponent to -2 and thats  game

Also if you had 2 grapeshots and no lightning bolt its still 17 dmg not quite lethal but not bad for turn 1.

You can take out the lightning bolt and the 2nd grapeshot for a pyromancers swath! Storm count of 6, swath, grapehot is a win!

The pyromancers swath would turn an 8 point grapeshot into 24 points of dmg correct?

Yes but only because it ISNT an 8 point grapeshot! If it were an 8 damage grape shot it would deal 11, but it would be 8 1 damage grapeshots, that turn into 8 3 dmg grapeshots, that would deal 24!

Cool that means you no longer have to go 2nd with the swath you can totally pull out a turn 1 win before your opponent plays a card that's sweet!

The grapeshot technically hits for 8 however it is not a solid hit for 8 in fact it is 8 instances of 1 dmg so the swath instead of making it 8+2 it does 1+2+1+2+1+2 and so on 8 times totaling 24
