Play predator, enchant it with link and fever, donate it, let it attack 4 times until its above 20/20, then play backlash! (Enchant it with battle mastery and furor of the bitten instead of bloodshed fever to make everyhting go faster!)

correct me if im wrong but the vampiric link doesnt make your opponent gain life and/or the predator only gets counters thru opponent gaining life.

No it works, though I certainly had to think about it for a bit. You donate the Kavu but since you control the Vampiric Link, you gain the life when it deals damage. The "your opponent" part of the card refers to the opponent of whoever's controlling it. I always prefer Lust for War personally.

This is 4 colours tho.  I would suggest using bazaar trader to get rid of the Blue

Yeah bazaar trader would work better! I also originnally had it as spirit link, but changed it to vampiric so it wouldnt be 5 color!

Doesn't work as well as you think, and here's why:

"Whenever an opponent gains life" means that he gets a counter every time a life-gaining ability triggers.  This means the counters gained is not equivelant to the life gained. 

Say, for example, he hits you for two damage, then you gain two life from Vampiric Link.  That, in turn triggers Kavu Predator's ability and he gets only one +1/+1 counter, because that is only one instance of lifegain.  If he were enchanted with 2 Vampiric Links, then after damage was said and done, he would gain 2 +1/+1 coutners because that is two separate instances of lifegain on an opponent.  Ergo, it will take quite a bit longer than 4 turns to beef him up.

Also, it's still a bit risky because Vampiric Link triggers after combat damage is dealt; you need to have more life than the amount of damage the Kavu is doing.

Woulda been nice if it worked well though.

Strikerbolt, the kavu says "whenever an opponent gains life, put THAT MANY +1 counters.
So the creature gets a counter for EACH 1  life gained.

You need to have more life than the kavu is doing, true.

The combo works.
It's risky, but it works.
