Simoon don't target creatures, but an opponent.
Instead of Horobi, you can use "Death pits of Rath".

i wasnt able to reply to this before now, as it got lost in the archives and i was without net for a week after i posted it

anyways, i realise simoon doesnt target, i was mistaken on that one

Cauldron of Souls rather than simoon, it kills them, because the ability goes on the stack, but before the cauldron ability resolves, the hirobi one does, so the cauldron ability does not do anything to help them
