The most important cards in this combo are Mana Reflection, Skullmulcher, and Paleoloth. Use mana reflection to build up some mana (Upwelling is useful here.) Then play Paleoloth and Penumbra Wurm. Next turn, build up all of your mana, then smack down Skullmulcher. Then devour Penumbra Wurm, and if you must, the 6/6 black wurm too. Paleoloth returns Penumbra to your hand, since Skullmulcher is a 5/5 when it comes into play. the next part of the combo after playing Penumbra again, is another Skullmulcher. Play Skullmulcher 2 and devour Skullmulcher 1 and Penumbra. Then you get a 6/6 and can return both skullmulcher 1 and Penumbra to your hand. Since Skullmulcher draws 2 cards every time you do this combo, you can mill most of your deck fast to get the cards you need. Where Ancients Tread racks up fast damage, doing about 15 damage every time you do the combo for each W-A-T in play. Hissing Iguanar also does 2 damage, giving that extra bump. Mycoloth is an alternate to Penumbra, popping creatures down every turn.

Unless I'm mistaken, then you can only devoure the moment a creature comes into play. So when you play a creature with devoure and sac. the Wurm spell stack takes effect
  1. play creature
  2. assign targets for devoure
  3. "devoure creatures"
  4. reaction to creature going to graveyard put a 6/6 wurm into play

That's right. So instead of devouring Penumbra, just wait until you get both skullmulcher's in your hand, and then play both and devour one and the Penumbra Wurm. Thanks for clearing that up.

The only change to what you wrote is that you can not devour the wurm token, your 1st wurm will still return to your hand when the 6/6 token comes into play

Exactly, and that's part of the combo. You get a black 6/6 Wurm with trample, and you return the first skullmulcher and the Penumbra back to your hand to plant the combo again. You keep the black wurm.
