How will this work?

Wait, doesn't mono artifact mean that you also have to tap it?

this is self-defeating.....when you use C of T's ability it untaps X*2 w/ mana flare....while tapping X*2 at the same time....therefore producing the same amount of tokens with goblin offensive as you would've withoout C of T in the first place since Goblin Offensive is a sorcery

He was trying to use the CoT to get infinite mana.  Basically tap all your lands, each one gives you 2 mana, then use 1 of those 2 as part of X to untap all your lands, tap them again for 2 more from each, repeat.

Unfortunatly CoT taps so he was not able to go infinite, though if you can get it to untap you can go infinite before playing offensive

Lin-I can't think of any one card, but pentavus and dross scorpion together they can untap CoT

Not exactly, but I did manage to find something

Then add in two artifact lands

With two of those, you would need three other lands, so it isn't as fast, but is still works

Don't know why I didn't see this before, but a fireball would be signifigantly more useful than goblin offensive.  oh well

Cloudpost is the only locus, but as a rule question, are changelings locus?

Locus is a Land type, not a Creature type. Changeleings don't count.

However, you could use Vesuva as Cloudposts 5-8.

actually no, with the new zendikon enchanments, or land creatures like dryad arbor you can turn your land into a creature then use Runed Stalactite or something similar to make them changelings

True, using a runed stalactite on an animated land would give it all CREATURE types.

However, Locus is a LAND subtype, not a creature one.

From the comp rules:

204.3h Lands have their own unique set of subtypes; these subtypes are called land types. The land types are Desert, Forest, Island, Lair, Locus, Mine, Mountain, Plains, Power-Plant, Swamp, Tower, and Urza's.

FYI, 204.3k lists all the creature types (i.e. all subtypes the land will gain with changeling)

Although I'll throw you a bone.

Stick a Zendikon on a Cloudpost, then hit it with Mirrorweave.

The Zendikon's animation effect is not a copyable characteristic, so all creatures in play turn into non-animated Cloudposts.

Enjoy your newfound set of Locus to ramp up your mana :D
