Use distorting lens, or any other card that uses it\'s ability, and turn your creature white if it isn\'t already, otherwise ignore this card. Then use the skullkin to give it persist. Then sac the creature for one green or black mana and bring it back into play and use the mana to get rid of its counters. Plus whilst doing this, quillspike gets infinite +3

Where's the mana coming from for the Scarecrow ability?

You have to use the Scarecrow's ability after every time that the creature goes to the graveyard.

its till end of turn, i kind of figured it stayed on it. but in that case you need ashnods altar and carnival of souls then it would work.

When the creature is returned to the battlefield from the graveyard via Persist (or any other effect for that matter), it is treated as a new creature and 'forgets' any effects which were applied to it like the Scarecrow's Persist granting effect, or stuff like Giant Growth.

You could use any creature which naturally has persist, but then your combo would be http://www.mtgcombos.com/view.php?fid=2&tid=17300
