if this has been posted already sorry bout the double post.

but its pretty basic.  since planeswalkers use "loyalty counters"  use a + ability and get them to explode a turn or 2 early.   useable in any planeswalker situation! :)

Yeah ive been exploiting this since i first saw a planeswalker. I LOVE RAVNICA. Doubling season is green....... Garruk is green........ second turn overrun and keep gurruk. And in four turns droping my entire elf deck w/ Nissa. I love Elves

 

Also i found two cards that are just awsome, one is part goblin merfolk and the other is half elf half merfolk. My best freind plays goblin and i play elf, and we both thin mer are lacking

Doubling season in play when playing a Planeswalker is good, more counters is fun :)

However, 'use a + ability and get them to explode a turn or 2 early.' does NOT work. (sorry not sure how to 'quote' in this system)

The counters are added to the Planeswalker as a COST - and Doubling Season only applies to EFFECTS

i.e. Having DS out when you play Garruk gives him 6 loyalty counters. Using his +1 ability still only adds 1 counter.

you just said +1 ability.....that falls under DS's ability to double tokens produced

ability and effect in mtg r the same thing

'+1 Ability' is shorthand for 'Garruk's ability which puts 1 counter on him as a cost'

Like on the cards themselves, they just have +1, -1, -4 is shorthand.

Abilities and Effects are not the same thing. An ability consists of two parts, Cost and Effect. Effects are caused by abilities (and spells).

If the ability was written out in full, it would be 'Put 1 Loyalty Counter on Garruk: Untap up to two target lands'

As with all activated abilities, everything before the : is the COST of the ability. Everything after this is the effect.
