The helm doesnt reduce its converted mana cost, it just makes it cost less to cast!

Aluren refers to converted mana cost, not casting cost. It was "errata"d on Gatherer.

I thought about figuring out a way to do this when making my Aluren deck, but there really is no way to change a CMC
