If you have 4 of each you get 1048576 coin flips! Even more if you run mirrorworks and prototype portal!

Actually you only need two Krark's Thumbs. Its a replacement effect. You would flip a coin, so one of the thumbs activates and you flip two. FOr each of those flips its replaced, and you would flip four, then the other one flips. Its activated endlessly, and you get infintie flips with two thumbs.

Sorry Cap'n, you're wrong. A replacement effect can only be applied once in any particular situation. e.g. You don't get infinite damage by using two Furnace of Rath - you get 4x damage (as each one replaces the damage by double the damage). Two thumbs gives 4 flips, ignoring 3 of them. Two Doubling Seasons gives you 4x the number of tokens, and so on.

Last time I read on here that once you double over that the effect keeps repeating and becomes endless and the game ends in a draw.

Whoever said that was wrong then :)

Unless they were talking about a triggered ability rather than a replacement ability, those can be set up in loops which cause a draw (e.g. the situation where the only nonland permanents are three Oblivion Rings)

Actually that is not wrong the official ruling is:

ruling under 104.4

104.4b If a game that's not using the limited range of influence option (including a two-player game) somehow enters a "loop" of mandatory actions, repeating a sequence of events with no way to stop, the game is a draw. Loops that contain an optional action don't result in a draw.

Krark's thumb is a mandatory action that must be taken and since most people play the limited range of influence option which allows the action to only be taken once.

That only applies to triggered abilities. Krark's thumb has a replacement effect (it ends with the word 'instead') - see section 614 of the comp rules.

Edit: added the relevant subsections:

614.1. Some continuous effects are replacement effects. Like prevention effects (see rule 615), replacement effects apply continuously as events happen -- they aren't locked in ahead of time. Such effects watch for a particular event that would happen and completely or partially replace that event with a different event. They act like "shields" around whatever they're affecting.

614.1a Effects that use the word "instead" are replacement effects. Most replacement effects use the word "instead" to indicate what events will be replaced with other events.

614.5. A replacement effect doesn't invoke itself repeatedly; it gets only one opportunity to affect an event or any modified events that may replace it.
Example: A player controls two permanents, each with an ability that reads "If a creature you control would deal damage to a creature or player, it deals double that damage to that creature or player instead." A creature that normally deals 2 damage will deal 8 damage -- not just 4, and not an infinite amount.

I don't argue with people on the internet... it doesn't work. And zark I was not trying to show you up or anything, I was merely posting some input into the thought.

@Turbine: agreed

@Twogunkid: freaking awesome and perfect for the scenario...
