Exile target artifact. Search its controller's graveyard, hand, and library for all cards with the same name as that artifact and exile them. Then that player shuffles.

The idea is to turn a basic land into an artifact with Liquimetal Coating and then exile ALL OF THEM with Splinter. You also get to see your opponent's hand and library.

For even more shenanigans you can add some (or all) of the following:

Enchanted Evening + Scour

Any land animation + Eradicate

None will be as fast as Liquimetal Coating into Splinter (apart from some of the cheaper land animation e.g. Wind Zendikon), but they're all surly :)

@ Draco lich: Well...there is also Reclaim, Regrowth, Recollect...and Eternal Witness. Or Twincast/ Reverberate depending on the colors.

Instead of Voltaic Key, one can also use Dross Scorpion (more expensive though).

If you don't have access to an untapper for the Liquimetal coating, you can also use Rings of Brighthearth to copy the ability :)

Of course, better yet is to use multiple coatings :D

True, but when you added it Liquimetal Coating wasn't in the database, so it was posted as 'Island + Splinter' ;)

It's not just for Liquimetal Coating. People have used other ways to make lands artifacts for a long time.

@MagicPunk: My apologies, I wasn't aware of that. But you are right, it's a good combo. Cheap in mana, dollars and cards (only 2)...with a potentially devastating result (especially when some poor guy is playing mono).

Its cool I play a mono green version of this deck, and its pretty fast. I'm sorry  I didn't want to be a dick I posted that combo before it was on the database. Nice find.
