Finally, I found one way to give Carrion Howler the boost it needs. But it will cost 7 of your life, and you'll need 4 mana max to pull it off.

Have Carrion Howler in play equipped with Slagwurm Armor, and also have Nantuko Mentor in play as well. But if you play it in order you should play Nantuko Mentor first on turn 3 then Carrion Howler on turn 4. Then on turn 5, you equip Carrion with the Armor so it's toughness becomes 8. Turn 6, you pay a max of 7 life to increase it's power to 16 and reduce it's toughness to 1. And during combat, use Nantuko's ability to turn Carrion to 32 power, and it's toughness to 17. Now you can pay an extra 16 life depending on your situation to boost Carrion's power even more, but is optional. So then it could become a 64/1, add berserk to the mix and it will finally become a 128 trample powered monster!!!

Keep in mind that I'm a little nuts in the head, can you blame me im latino lol, and that you can skip the extra payment of the 16 life depending on your situation, and just attack with a 64 trample powered beast instead. Still a big number and you can pay any amount of life you want in that step, you just do the math to determine your Howler's power...but obviously can't be more than 16 life to pay... jeje

Greatest, weakness is if they kill the critter. Burning a creature with 1 toughness is easy. It is a good trick, but dangerous in that it can be killed easily after you pay the life. That would leave you down life but up nothing. On the bright side paying life makes it mana cheap, and so you can do it early. It is a risky, but powerful move.

I suggest casting the Zendikar green instant (i forgot the name) that gives shroud to a creature and if kicked pumps the creature (i forgot how much but I'm sure it's decent) and shroud...

I think that card is called vines of vastwood you could also just add more green instances like giant growth and might of oaks too not sure where you would get all the mana for them but it would be extreme overkill at that point.

Well there is one other card I was thinking of adding, which helps increase it's toughness but because it is a white card, it's starting to get very multicolored, but still works very well to build a deck around that. The card by the way is Great Defender, is good cause it only costs 1 and will give it 4 extra toughness. But yeah there's lots of cards that can boost em up but trying to find the cheapest..

Well yea you could do that but let's look at the situation here. Like this combo can pump up Carrion's power to 128 with trample. And that costed you a total of 23 life. You can increase it's tougness all you want but the more you add to increase it's power the more life it's costing you, unless your adding this to a life gaining deck well that would be a different story. But yeah sure you can equip him all you want.
