first play boon reflection. then enchant something with battle mastery (or just use boros swiftblade or something), then enchant with the mantle. then swing. then cast the beacon, and double it again

If you're talking about competitive play, you're wrong. I only started playing competitively after 5 generation and I tried to stay away from the stupid looking Pokemon.

Also, can you seriously tell me that a lawnmower Pokemon is cooler than a huge turtle with f***ing cannons on its back? Seriously?

Also, how is Lucario a Steel type??? He's a fox!

I still play competitively to this day and while I admit that they have had some poor idea (ice cream pokemon I'm looking at you).That is no reason to dismiss an entire generation. Nor is it any reason to dismiss rotom whose fire form finally gave an excellent sweeper to pair with starmie.
I mean when did I become the level headed one anyway?

From a year perspective FOP Yugioh was written in the 80's cards were first printed in the late 90s Pokemon was written and published in the mid 90's. Magic started in the early 90s but seems to have maintained the most even keel.

As a matter of fact I did notice it, but the purpose of the thread is to see how off track it can go, so it really isnt possible for it to get off track at all!

Here's the difference between Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic:

Magic: requires some money, lots of skill in deck building, and lots of skill in playing

Yu-Gi-Oh: requires lots of money, some skill in deck building and no skill in playing

Here's my problem with yugio:
In pokemon, the cards represent various different pokemon, or items, or training teqniques.
In magic, the cards represent various different amulets which each contain a spell, or turn into a powerful artifact
In yugio, the cards represent cards. . .

i disagree strongly, i recall magic coming out as the first collectable card game, i remember when it was the only option for collectable card games

i am not the only one that remembers it either

Amen to that, Draco! I distinctly remember MTG as the first and the best. I started playing the week it came out, and there were no other CCGs at the time. I think after MTG came Jyhad, Spellfire, Pokemon, etc.

@Lin - Wouldn't the 'as far as TCGs go - brainnns!' Be more towards Jyhad or Vampire for the TCG? But also thank you for setting the record straight on the timeline of TCGs.
