Ok what would be the point of this? It puts a -1/-1 counter on itself, killing it, and deals one poison counter to a player. I mean come on even a proliferate card is better than this. Even if it did work it would still take ten turns and that is way more than enough time for someone to finish you off.

It's Into the Maw of Hell. (basically, 13 damage, same as a Shivan Meteor).

except it cost 1 more, and destroys a land, which ideally doesn't matter, but you know.

He used phyresis as a placeholder for a card thats not in the database. It happens all the time, you just have to figure out what card they meant thats all.

It's not your fault. He didn't even specify what card it was. Also, he used a card that could easily have been seen as being used with Stuffy Doll.

but you could use the maw of hell along with the phyresis to deal 13 poison counters to opponent

Yea, I didn't see this as that bad a combo. 

All you would have to do is manage to deal 10 to the stuff doll from another source and it adds up quick in a nice red deck.
