I think it works... the Dark Confidant will try to do everything, but since your life total cannot change, you only end up drawing a card?

If it really works, it'll go in my reanimetor deck!

Yes, it works, since the ability to draw and the loss life are the same ability, but if the loss life was a COST, the ability wouldn't work.

Yeah that works, Dark Tutelage would work as well. I think that what would work even better though would be Ad Nauseam, since you could do it over and over in one turn, and not just once per turn.

xxmushroom DON'T DO THIS!! I have a Reanimator deck too... so let's think: the Reanimator deck is based in HUGE creatures for low costs, so... if you draw for example a Iona, Shield of Emeria, that means you will lose 9 life in one turn!

The point is you WOULDN"T lose life because of the emperion. So you reanimate emperion and lose eight life, but then all of your reanimates would be for "free" since you couldn't lose life anymore.

Oh well. In this case, good. I really don't looked this because I have a trauma with the phrase: "Dark Confidant in Reanimator".

The fact is I know a person, that only because heard: "Dark Confidant is a powerhorse!" have bought 4 copies of them and put in his Reanimator deck. A lost of MUCH MONEY, and MUCH STUPIDITY!

Nevermind... really it's great to have in a Reanimator this combo ;)

I think it's better to have x1 Emperion in the deck, x2 Emperion and x2 Confident in the side :D

So with Dark Confidant and Emperion out, beginning of your upkeep trigger on the stack and they kill the Emperion.  You reveal Iona and lose aaaaallll that life.  Removal can hurt this way too much, the combo's good but I'd hate to have them both out, Emperion killed and reveal another emperion :(.
