This one is pretty cool. Play Light of Sanction the turn before you cast Wrath of God. Make it count and make sure you have a shit load of huge creatures ready to pound your defenseless opponent to his defeat!!!

Great idea but doesn't work. Destroy does not count as damage so the spell would still resolve. Destroy is to remove from the battlefield to the graveyard.

light of sanction would be good with a card like pyroclasm or lavaball trap or earthquake but then you would have to add in red
