Granted you'd need two creatures out for this to have any effect it's a quick effective strike in multiplayer matches.

Have Grave Pact and two other creatures out. Once you get out Thraximundar play Barter in blood. You sacrifice two creatures and all other players sacrifice four. In a two player match Thraximundar is looking at a possible 6 +1/+1 counters going from a 6/6 to a 12/12 for four mana. In a four player match you can have up to 14 creatures. A 20/20 and it takes four creatures from every other player. Then Thraximundars normal effect comes into play and anything left gets sacrificed and you're hitting for usually lethal damage.

Add Prince of Thralls to that.

This isn't quick at all. Thrax costs 7, and you need 4 more after that for the barter. Also, there's no guarantee your opponent will have ANY creatures considering the type of deck you're playing. Pact and Barter, yes. Thrax, no. Try Abyssal Gatekeeper, or Fleshbag Marauder, or if you have access to them, any of the limitless amount of black creatures that can continuously reanimate themselves such as Ashen Ghoul, Nether Shadow, etc. Doomed Necromancer is also a great card with Grave Pact.

Granted, maybe it's not the fastest combo out there, but four mana for four creatures sacrificed per opponent is hard to beat. And Thraximundar just grows from that. The problem with Ashen Ghoul  and Nether Shadow is you need two creatures above them.

Ashen Ghoul requires 3, and nether Shadow requires 1 directly above it. I only suggested them because they can be re-used as fuel for your Pact/Barter combo. You're right, 4 mana for 4 creatures is great, but Thrax isn't neccesary for that. I used to have a deck that was loosely based on cards like Barter, although my only creatures were Abyssal Gatekeeper and Fleshbag Marauder so I had no use for Grave Pact. Something else I noticed is Pact and Barter both cost 4, meaning with no mana acceleration, the fastest you could do it is turn 5. Ideally, you'd play your 'fuel' creatures on turn 1 and 2, and some creature or other permanent that could benefit from this combo on turn 3. Cemetery Puca could use the extra mana you'd have on turn 5, and Khabál Ghoul gives the same effect as Thrax. There's also Kuon, Ogre Ascendant, and Toshiro Umezawa. Plenty of others if you play multi-colored.
