The only common black cards that I can think of that can ramp black are things like dark ritual, basal thrull, blood pet, overeager apprentice.

I know you're looking for commons only but I'm jut gonna throw it out there. Maga Traitor to Mortals. I would've said infinite mana but that would've been redundant because if you have infinite mana you'll just feed it into Maga.

Well he can't very well use Maga can he? Besides, we looking at ways to produce large creatures through life, not through mana, I only suggested mana producers to help with the imp that Turbine suggested. Now that I think about it though, Immolating Souleater isn't bad I guess. You can move both of you to around ten life each. I don't know what this deck does, but with some aggro cards like hasty goblins and lightning bolts BR aggro could work.

I just thought of something. Make it white/black and add Cradle of Vitality. And I do mean Cradle not Leyline.

thats still not a common card, he can't use either exsanguinate or cradle of vitality.

Does anyone notice that the picture to rite of consumption the creature that is being sacrificed is a treefolk.

Kind of strange seeing that by history they have always had a low attack power and a high defense.

Vintage? rite of consumption is shadowmore. Nothing more than extended for the moment, that is until inistrad comes out.

But I gues we can argue that it is vintage because EVERYTHiNG falls under vintage.

Krowbar, you just made a forum saying how much we get off track. This thread itself is proof. For people who forgot, Ephemerance is looking for a card that can boost up its power using life so he can get it back with rite of consumption. Heres the caveat that people are forgetting: they must all be COMMON cards. No rares, no uncommons, just commons. Immolating souleater isn't bad, I think thats a good bet, especially with the bat turbine suggested, so a BR deck could be solid.

Sorry Krowbar you took off the furnace in between when i started typing and when i posted. Now I look just ridiculous lol

Use Immolating Souleater x 4 , Children of Korlis x 4 , Essence Harvest x 3 , Rite of Consumption x 3, Rest for the Weary x4 , Kami of False Hope x 4, Sign in Blood x 4, Dark Ritual x 4........Blood Artist and Suture Priest are good fillers too.  I have had this deck built for a while with Wall of Blood, and my newly added Dark Depths + Hex Parasite.
