Just throwing out a quick little ditty. 

Mortis Dogs get a bonus when they attack and when they die they deal damage. 

Always good to have 7 - 9 damage (almost half their life) just waiting for a sacrifice engine to take down your opponent. 

With Fling after an attack you could deal 18 damage. 

The only problem is that lofty casting cost.

Mortis Dogs is pretty brutal, especially if you add in a Nim Deathmantle. I use them together with Viscera Seer in my standard black removal deck, and between attacking and saccing, at four mana per turn you can do up to 12 damage and at the very least 6.
