One mana for no damage from each attacker. Simple enough, you just might need some mana accel to have enough to play your spells and stop all of your opponents creatures.

I like Urza's Armor/Humility better.  1 mana may not seem like much, but it can add up fast.

The reason I like this is because since its colorless, I can fit it into a green deck where mana tends not to be an issue. And with humility, you have the backlash of your creatures becoming 1/1's as well.

Would this work? It's preventing damage, not loss of life.

It would work. The latest text for forcefield reads if a creature would deal combat damage to you, prevent all but one of that damage. Urza's armor then prevents the one damage that gets through.
