Have EP out, then if I'm right, use the elf's power to bring out the Furnace Dragon to take out all artifacts just in play? Or in the decks to?

Artifacts only exist while in play.  in any other zone they are artifact cards.  So if the dragons ability triggered you wouldn't remove anything from a library as there are no artifacts in the library's or graveyards either.

Notice I wrote "if the dragon's ability triggered" that is because in the example that you give, puting the dragon into play via EP would not trigger the ability, because the dragon came into play as the result of an ability, you did not play (cast) the dragon from your hand.  As a result no artifacts will be removed by the dragon.

Actually, having the Piper put the Furnace Dragon into play "from your hand" does in fact trigger the FD's ability.  FD states that if it was played from your hand, it triggers....it does NOT state that the mana cost has to be paid. EP puts the FD into play "from your hand" , as opposed to "from your graveyard", "from your library", or by any other means. I am fairly certain this is correct.

Sorry Skybreak but you are incorrect.  This combo is a prime example of the confusion between "playing" and "put into play", which lead to the renaming of "play" into "cast" with the m10 rule change.  As a result of this rule change text has be update to reflect the new rules.  As result the Furnace Dragon has been updated to read "if you cast it from your hand".

When you use EP ability you are not casting the dragon at all,  so the ability does not trigger.

Actually, the Oracle text was changed due to that confusion.. Check Phage the untouchables' Oracle text for reference.. the "If you played it from your hand" text was changed to "If you casted it from your hand" or something. just look for it.
