tap all your lands, then sacrifice them to the orb, then use balance or wrath of god or something like that to wipe out all creatures

then activate the chimeric idol then biorythm for the win

I shouldn't say that because most of these combos can be destroyed by basically any burn spell that costs 1 or 2 mana.

urzas armour won't protect you, not that it matters because thanks to the orb followed by balance he has no mana to play lightning bolt.

Sorry, I thought that Urza's Armor prevented damage to your creatures too. Either way, don't crap on people's combos, Mr. Imp. Sure, many combos can be destroyed by one card, but that isn't what this site is for. People want to read about combos on here, not how to break them.

The last time I checked, the name of this site is MTGCombos, not MTGComboCounters.

Gericault, your opponents can float mana in response to Balance, so they have a chance to answer Biorythm.

or simply use a ornithopter with a whispersilk cloak (it's not like green can produce a lot of mana is it?)

the problem with the combo is activation of the Idol. you can pay the 0, but you can't tap lands you don't have, preventing you from activating the combo. i'll check it for 100%, but if you can't pay ALL costs of activation, it can't happen. in this instance, tapping lands is required for activation.

Your lands are tapped as part of the effect, not part of the cost.

i find it odd that my old combo re-hashes after a year of dormancy... :P

but yes, this combo does work, as you can "float" mana in your mana pool, as it will not empty until after the end of the phase if i am not mistaken
