Never to be outdone in the insanity department I want to submit this for some critical review. 

First it works like this.  Life and Limb is going to make your Saprolings Lands.  So you use Saproling Cluster to basically make a 1 mana Cycling machine.  Horn of Greed will allow you to draw a card to replace the card you discarded.  So you can just tap your land/saproling that you just summoned to make it infinite (or until you run out of cards).  The Seeder will allow you to untap the land you tapped to summon the saproling and everytime you play another land it will untap again to allow you to have all those lands untapped.

So basically you should have a ton of mana and a ton of creatures.  So you add the final card, which could be Rampage or an X damage card or a Landfall effect, whatever floats your boat.

One weakness of this combo is that Saproling Cluster and Horn of Greed are available to you and your opponent, so it would need to be taken into account when building a deck around this.

What do you think?  BTW, I don't even know if this works.

Doubling Season will double up the amount of Saprolings you create allowing for even more power.

run a wheel of sun and moon and it goes infinite. and if you make it green black or green white you can run suture priest or blood seeker to discourage them from using your combo.

So sorry, this doesn't work. Carefully reread Horn of Greed. It says "whenever a player PLAYS a land, that player draws a card". You are not playing lands here, you are just putting them into play.

Gatherer Card Rulings?, Legality?

  • 10/4/2004: Playing a land will trigger it, but putting a land onto the battlefield as part of an effect will not.
If you're curious about any of the cards, you should read up on the current Oracle wording and relavent rulings on the card.  This information can be found at magiccards.info or from the mothership at gatherer.wizards.com.

Ah, read more carefully Hungry, it does work.

Life and Limb makes Saproling Forests as well, so when they come into play they count as lands as well.

If you look in the general forum area we discussed if it would work and it was confirmed.

yes they are lands which was what was confirmed in the other post, but you are not playing them, they are entering play as the result of an effect.  And if you read the ruling from horn of greed, Squillis posted, it says it doesn't trigger for being put on the battlefield
