Found this combo last night when I was playing my Hanna EDH...er...Commander deck:

Use the Chamber to take one of their critters, then Proteus staff it to put it into their library and top one of yours out.

Probably a better control taker is better like Seasinger or Ray of Command on a stick but I was discarding (due to Hanna's ability) enchantments and artifacts that i could dig back up.

Very clever, free polymorphs. Speaking of which, i've always loved the fact that polymorph says "destroy" instead of sacrifice. Darksteel creatures anyone?

If it isn't destroyed, the ability isn't triggered. Also, Polymorph can be used to kill an opponent's big creature if necessary.

As a side note, this was an effective way to hide their Generals...er...Commanders in their decks.

That's always fun. What's the name of that card that shuffles a creature into it's owner's library? It works for opponent's creatures too.

If it isn't destroyed, the ability isn't triggered.

When a spell is cast long as it doesn't fizzle or is countered it will resolve, and when it resolves it will attempt to do all it can.  For example, if you cast Doomblade on Darksteel Myr, it will still resolve as it is a legal target, it just won't do anything

In the case of polymorph, it does say destroy target creature but it does not say "if a creature is destoryed this way".  So when polymorph is cast it will attempt to destroy a creature if it succeds or fails is illrelevent because the rest of polymorph will resolve since it is not dependent on the creature being destroyed.

Yep, you're right. I just looked at the rulings. Thanks for correcting me.

If
the targeted creature is indestructible, it's still a legal target --
it just isn't destroyed. The rest of Polymorph's effect happens as
normal.

I'm liking this combo.  As you said, there are better take control cards, but the idea is there and it works.
