Bring both Horobi and Captive Flame into play. Use Captive Flame to give target creature you want destroyed a +1/+0. The target creature will now be destroyed, due to Horobi, Death's Wail.

Repeat, and keep your opponent's creatures in the graveyard.

instead of Captive Flame, how 'bout goblin sharpshooter. He taps to do 1 damage, creature dies, he untaps, rinse repeat.

You don't even need to do any damage to that creature to destroy it. For all anyone cares, you could use Imagecrafter's ability! (Which would work just as well)

I would consider this combo if it didn't put my own creatures at risk.

combo needs something to go get the spirit too.  With my luck it would be better just to put a Terminate in the deck.

they will die because the moment the cost is paid to regenerate the creature, the creature is destroy while the regenerate effect will kick in after the ability resolved but there is no creature to regenerate so it will have no regen effect...

the answer is you dont need the captive flame at all, just asceticism.
regenerate their creature and it dies, just as easy and a whole lot more ironic...

I would think that the creature would be targeted, die, then the ability would trigger and fizzleizzlezzlezlelee

turbine is right,

Targets are declared when the ability goes on the stack so when the target is when the creature is targeted by the regen ability is still on the stack, horobri kill ability is above that.  the creature dies before the regen ability resolves

Well your creatures have hexproof.....which means they cant be targeted.

Why would you target your own creatures though?

Horobi is best with Cauldron of Souls...because just like regeneration they are targeted and die before they get the bonus...plus one color.

Squillis is right, Goblin Sharpshooter + an equip of Basilisc Collar, and BAM no more creature in play !

Oh and by the way, every cards have its own weakness. So there's no absolute combo to win !

Captive Flame can be countered or destroyed by naturalize !
Horobi, Death's Wail can be countered or destroyed by murder !
