Stoneforge Mystic Dunno why it\'s not in the database.

So the question of why the Mystic was so powerful (other than the obvious reasons).  I thought for a second and busted out the following theme oriented combo.

How about a 7/7 Double Striker w/ Annihilator: 1, so effectively a 14/7 that you can put into play with only 2 white mana on the field in, oh, about 3 or 4 turns.

The discussion ended there.  The Eldrazi approved.

Argentum Armor doesn't give it annihilator 1 btw.  you get to destroy a permanent instead of the defending player sacrificing a permanent.

I believe he means that in effect it is given annihilator 1. Besides, it is somewhat better than that given ability, due to the fact that YOU choose the permanent, rather than the opponent.

Or Hexproof or Shroud.

yeah, that's what i'm saying.  You get to choose, so it's better than annihilator except in the case of hexproof, shroud, or indestructible as previously mentioned.

I like it. If Stoneforge Mystic WAS legal you could pop this off on turn 4. Not bad

Obviously, it was more than "not bad" if Stoneforge was banned.
