Bring CoP: Black into play, and enchant your favorite creature(s) with Black Ward(s).
Now play Darkest hour, which turns all creatures black. Any of your creatures enchanted by Black Ward cannot be harmed by other creatures, and any creatures that reach you to do damage can be nullified with one mana.
