Imagine lighting a match in a hall of mirrors, but all the copies create real flame.

I would love to see this combo painted as a single picture.

So get as many Krak's Thumb's and Sculpting Steel copies thanks to the Mirror Gallery.  Then bust out your most important mirror.  The Panoptic one!  Make your hall of mirrors a Fiery Gambit!  With multiple coin flips it'll be tough not to win a flip each round for damage or cards.

I do believe you only need two Krark's Thumbs, because it sets up an infinite loop.

EDIT: Which would result in a draw without Chance Encounter to win.

Oh man!  I didn't see Chance Encounter!  As themes go these guys were just made for each other.

Why would it be infinite?  Is it because the first Krark asks for two for one and the next would add 2 for 2 (4) and that would again enact the first Krark (8) and so on?  Seems like they would make it only target the first flip together, making 4 flips and taking the one you liked of all, but that infinite loop does make more sense.

'I do believe you only need two Krark's Thumbs, because it sets up an infinite loop.

Unfortunately not. Each replacement effect can only apply once per 'action'.

e.g. Firey Gambit says 'flip a coin'

Krark's Thumb No. 1 replaces that with 'flip 2 coins and ignore one'

Krark's Thumb No. 2 replaces each of the coin flips from thumb no. 1 - you get 'flip 2 coins and ignore one, then flip 2 coins and ignore one, then ignore one of these sets' (which is much the same as 'flip 4 coins and ignore 3')

Krark's Thumb No.1 has already been applied, so cannot change this further. You need a third thumb to get up to 8 coins (as it doubles each time).

Note that with Chance Encounter, I you only look at the ultimate result of the flip, not each individual replacement effect, as you ignore one result from each 'split' - ignoring in this case also means you do not trigger Chance Encounter if you win that flip. Effectively you make a single coin flip with skewed odds (with 2 thumbs you have a 7/8 chance of winning the flip)

There's the rules guru.

That's sad. It would have made a great deck. . .

Zark, you are the Rules master... as a side note, your explanation gave me a headache that doubled in intensity as I read further into the explanation.
