I was wondering that if you have a creature that has Auras on it and you give the creature shroud if the Auras will not be able to target the creature any more. I think the would go to the grave yard, but I am not sure. Can anyone help with his?

lol, your name is perfect because you did what I did, you posted in the Combo section, not general chat.

To answer your question the enchantments should stay and they are still targetable while the creature no longer is.

For instance you enchant a creature with Hermetic Study (creature gets tap to deal a point of damage), then you give it shroud.  The creature keeps the enchantment and can tap to deal a point of damage but can now no longer tap to deal a point of damage to itself.

Can some tell me the difference between giving the enchanted creature shroud and giving it protection from a color?

shroud means it cant be the target of any spells or abilities at all (can still take damage or be affected by anything that will hit it but doesnt target specifically)

protection from a color means that it cant be targeted by any spells or abilities of that color... protection from a color also prevents all damage done by that color to the creature with protection from it(but still affected by mass effects) , and it is unblockable to all creatures of the color of protection

... for example, black knight has protection white, it cant be targeted by any white ability, be blocked with any creature with white in its cast cost (would be classed as a white creature) is not affected by anything in white that does damage to all creatures, but is destroyed by cards like wrath of god which does removal, but not damage.. it can not be enchanted by white enchantments (cant be targeted), can't be targeted of white sorceries or instants(or interrupt if you remember they once existed)

to put it point blank, no white permanent or spell can affect it unless a mass removal (because of protection from white)

no, that is exactly the reason the made protection: because it protects against what shroud and hexproof don't: it protects things that don't target. while consume the meek only effects certain creatures, it still doesn't target. so protection from white would protect from field wide cards. that is the difference between "any number of target creatures" and things that affect all creatures in a certain condition.

cosine-consume the meek is a black spell it will kill the black knight, it will kill the white knight as well

Draco is right,

Shroud and hexproof prevent a permanant from being targeted-in other words if the word target is in a spell or ability it can't affect a permanent with shroud or hex.

Protection prevents DEBT from a source that has the protected chacteristic. DEBT stands for the following

D-damage - a permanent can't take damage from a source that has the protected chacteristic

E-equiped/enchant -  a permanent can't take damage from a source that has the protected chacteristic

B-blocked - a creature can't be blocked by a permanent that has the protected chacteristic

T-target - a creature can't be targeted by a spell or permanent from a source that has the protected chacteristic

global effects like wrath of god, consume the meek, damnation do not cause damage, do not target, do not block or enchant-so they can affect a permenant with shoud or protection.

other global effects like pyroclasm or volcanic fallout do not target but they do damage so they will not hurt a creature with pro-red.

So when dealling with protection just remember DEBT

The other thing is, even if a creature has Shroud, Protection from (insert associated color), or Hexproof and your opponent plays a card that says you sacrifice a creature you can sacrifice any of those creatures.

For instance, Vampire Aristocrat is a black card that says sacrifice a creature to give him +2/+2.  You could sacrifice a White Knight to do that.

Black Sun Zenith puts -1/-1 counters on all the creatures, so the white knight would get them.

One questions I have though is, Infect deals its damage as -1/-1 counters.  I would say if the White Knight blocked a black infect creature that even though the -1/-1s are not officially damage the text says, "deals damage in -1/-1 counters" so therefor would reduce it to 0.

Its still damage even if its a differant form so it will be prevented
