On your turn, you use the Thran Forge to turn your legend, in this case Iona, into an artifact. Then play sculpting steel it is a copy of Iona, but it is not an arttifact legendary angel not a legendary angel. Now you have a 1 greater power legend and the original.

I really like what you are trying here unfortunatly it does not work.  Legendary is a "supertype", while artifact/creature/artifact creature are "card types".  Thran forge works by changing the card type, however, Iona will retain the legendary status.  When you play the steel SBE's are checked it will see two legends with the same name and both will go to the grave
