I can't believe this combo wasn't in the database.

Back when Legends came out a cute little creature came out in blue with a nifty little ability to return stuff to it's owner's hand.

Nobody ever even flinched when it hit the table, until one day someone decided to throw a Stasis out.  Oops, I can't untap the person would say, well my opponent can't either so no problem, right?  Suddenly he would look at the Time Elemental and back at the Stasis and realize your opponent didn't need additional turns because you were just going to sit there the rest of the game.

Sure enough, pop, the Stasis was back in its owner's hand and he was untapping like nothing happened and then Stasis was back out locking things up again.

With the proliferation of colors at the time some smart players decided to add Kismet to the chain and well now everything came out tapped and locked up tighter than a drum.

Besides Channel/Fireball (which you didn't see that much in action) this was one of the most frequent combos around and it caused Red to Lightning Bolt, Black to Terror, and White to Sword to Plowshares the poor innocent Time Elemental the second it hit the table.  In fact, it happened so much that people just stopped trying anything new with it.

If Dominaria had its first extinct animal, it would've been a Time Elemental.
