This combo will work with any X spell. I just used Blaze for a quick game winner. Have the Djinn out, then play Sage Owl, make sure the X spell you want is on top. Make a Wish. Blaze deals over 9000 damage to target player.  The Mentor enables you to repeat the process when you run out of wishes or wish to rearange your top four cards. This is in my current favorite white, blue, red, deck. It is a garunted way to really annoy people in multiplayer.\\

Other recomended cards Balduvian Hydra, Alabastar Potion, Ice Berg, or Dregs of Sorrow

Check the ruling of Djinn of wishes. X on blaze would be 0.

What shakii is saying is true.  X is an alternate cost and can't be payed.  It falls under rule 107.3

107.3b If a player is casting a spell that has an {X} in its mana cost, the value of X isn’t defined by the text of that spell, and an effect lets that player cast that spell while paying neither its mana cost nor an alternative cost that includes X, then the only legal choice for X is 0.

you could however do such with some really powerful creature or spell (krosan cloudscraper, searing wind), long term plans would work well in here too
