I don't understand why you need the Claws it the card is going to be sacrificed anyway.

It would be sacrificed at the end of your turn. The claws make it so that you can sacrifice it when you need the effect.

the claws is a nice touch, sac all your creatures or put them in safe haven then board wipe and release XD

also the claws give you one life, and tend to work well with sneak attack anyway, but isn't really needed.

claws works great as a fast effect if some one trys to remove it fromthe game

What I like about the claws addition is that it puts your creatures in the grave while your opponents all get exiled, working nicely with cards like enduring renewal and resurrection.

not to mention sacing the prophet before then end of turn clears the path of blockers for other beats played via sneak attack
