Here's a combo that doesn't work!

nope read carefully. (spells without mana costs can be played) then the reminder text on flashback (play that card from your graveyard). Good thought though

This does not work.  while you are correct about how flashback works you are missing the part from Darlnu, which turns the flashback cost into the mana cost.

116.6. Some mana costs contain no mana symbols. This represents an unpayable cost. An ability can also have an unpayable cost if its cost is based on the mana cost of an object with no mana cost. Attempting to cast a spell or activate an ability that has an unpayable cost is a legal action. However, attempting to pay an unpayable cost is an illegal action.

You are not reading the cards fully, this has nothing to do with the CMC of the cards, The flashback cost is based on the mana cost,  If the mana cost was 0 it would state 0 like it does on memnite, but since they don't have anything the mana cost is nothing, not 0, it doesn't exist.  Leading to the ruling i listed above.

I've used Galvanoth, and the best thing I've been able to do with him is Vampiric Tutor or Mystical Tutor into a Time Stretch. I don't think I have many other cards that put spells on top of my deck, and other than that he's kinda hit-or-miss.
